HO HO HO

YOU'D BE NICE...AFTER EGGNOG by Prairie Cats

Omaha's own kings of swing, Prairie Cats, have created an instant Christmas classic with their new original song, "You'd Be Nice After Eggnog."

The song is a humorous ode to holiday romance, fueled by the very finest of yuletide beverages…the beloved eggnog. The hard-driving tune includes a sleigh-full of holiday references, sure to bring a smile to the face of even the most serious Scrooge.

"You'd Be Nice…After Eggnog" was recorded in Nov. 2001 at Warehouse Studios in Omaha, by Prairie Cats and engineer Jim Homan. It was originally written in 1997 by Jason Grotelueschen (vocalist and trombone player for Prairie Cats), and the tune was rearranged and brought to life for 2001.

One thing is for certain - Christmas may never be quite the same...after eggnog!

Holly in the hallway and mistletoe above, the yuletide is upon us once again
When you come a-wasslin', no need to ring the bell
Wipe your feet and drop your coat and come on in (fa la la...)

I'm headin' to the drugstore with a pocket full of change, gonna pick me up a carton, maybe two
We don't need the fat man to bring us Christmas cheer
I got a fridge all full of eggnog, and I got you

'Cause you're the stuffing in my stocking, baby, the tinsel on my tree
Wrap yourself in ribbons, darlin', a gift from you to me
If Saint Nick drops on by, well now won't he be surprised
He'll say "ho ho ho," Santa knows, naughty is so nice
Well first thing's first now baby, pour us another round
Top the glass off, if you please
Well I propose a toast to the elf I love the most
You'd be nice...after eggnog

Well don't you pout and don't you cry, it's that time of year, a time when you don't need to fret or fuss
All we need is a fire, some presents and a tree
And a kitchen full of eggnog, that's a must

'Cause you're the numbers on my dreidel, and the jingle in my bell
You put the "ah" in jolly, and the "o" in my "noel"
We'll sing a Christmas song just to help the time along
We'll sing "fa la la la la la la" all night long
Well first thing's first now baby, pour us another round
Top the glass off, if you please
Well I propose a toast to the elf I love the most
You'd be nice...after eggnog

Well first thing's first now baby, pour us another round
Top the glass off, if you please
Well I propose a toast to the elf I love the most
You'd be nice...after eggnog

(What's the expiration date on this?
This stuff's from last December!
OH, I DON'T FEEL SO GOOD...)
